| Correze is the least populated department in the whole of France and the animals seem to know about it. Unhindered by people and with an abundance of deciduous woodland to roam, there are healthy populations of deer, boar, squirrels and other small mammals. What’s more, the chateau grounds are teeming with birdlife including numerous Jays, a Nuthatch and a Woodpecker. There is even a resident Barn Owl and several Lesser Horseshoe bats in the cellar. The natural world is accessible to everyone and you just have to open your eyes and explore what is around you. The walks can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities and incorporate specific interests from woodlore to natural history.
