Fall in love with this stunning 17th century romantic French chateau!

It is situated in the tranquil countryside of Correze on the frontier of Limousin and Auvergne, a region of high plateaus and deeply incised gorges. There are many rivers close by, none more renowned than the Dordogne river, the lifeblood of a region famed for stunning natural scenery, beautiful medieval towns and, of course, excellent food and wine.

Eco-holidaying - we are in the process of converting the whole chateau to an eco holiday and co-housing project which will aim to be 100% self-sufficient in food, water and energy.  2010 will be an important transition year and you can benefit from learning about this as it is happening during your stay.

Accommodation - this original 17th century chateau is set in 34 acres of wonderful sunny terraces, gardens and woodland. The bedroom suites, recently refurbished, combine period furniture with modern bathroom facilities and downstairs there is abundant space in the huge kitchen, dining and living rooms, all with open fireplaces. We also have a huge 15x10 metre swimming pool and acres of fields and woods.

The environs - the chateau is 5 minutes drive from the welcoming village of Saint Privat which has all conveniences including two bakeries, two small supermarkets, a post office, banking, restaurants, bar and tabac. Close by you will find the picturesque medieval towns of Argentat and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne whilst Collonges la Rouges – “The prettiest village in France” – is just and hour and a half away.
